WHAT IS PSYCHOTHERAPY LIKE IN KETAMINE?
Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy is a unique blend of principles of psychotherapy that has been integrated by Dr. Qazi Javed in assessing and tracking the change of a person as they go through their transformation.

KETAMINE ASSISTED PSYCHOTHERAPY
Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy consists of three types of phases. Depending on your wishes and after consulting with the medical team you can decide with your therapist the frequency and amount of Ketamine Assisted Sessions and Integration sessions you will need.

1. ASSESSMENT
This is the first session that you will have with your psychotherapist. Based on your goals you may choose to extend this phase as much as you would like so that you can become aware of where you are in your life with respect to your intentions and what goals you want to have as you start engaging in work with Ketamine.

YOUR WORK:
In this, you will

Evaluate whether the therapist and yourself have the goodness of fit.

Whether you feel safe with the therapist.

How deep you want to go (the more time you invest in preparation, the more you will get out of the Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy)

YOUR THERAPIST’S WORK:
The therapist will be trying to get an idea about where you are in life.

They will be trying to clarify your intention and goals.

A complete whole-person assessment (Integral Map) will start (if you wish) which includes:

Body inventory
Mind inventory

Spirit inventory

Community inventory

Environment inventory

Wisdom inventory

Creativity inventory

Love inventory

Pure being inventory

2.KETAMINE ASSISTED WORK

YOUR WORK:
In this phase, you will be working and exploring your unconscious mind. You might visit places, meet people, relive memories, and come face to face with your fears. This journey can involve dark or light encounters. They can be scary or they can be filled with elation and fun. You might be directed by the therapist to talk about things or to go deeper. Every therapy session is different.

YOUR THERAPIST’S WORK:
The therapist will be creating a set setting. They will be providing a space in which you can do the work. They will be providing reassurance and helping you deal with scary situations or feelings that might arise. They can also document some of the things you say or your actions during your journey. Once you come out of the journey, they will process your memories and help you make some initial interpretations as they relate to your intentions.

3. INTEGRATION SESSIONS
Integration sessions are in addition to the Ketamine sessions and are encouraged but not mandatory. These sessions supercharge your work in the Ketamine space.

YOUR WORK:
You will be exploring the meaning and significance of your journey. You will explore your intention and whether you have gotten an answer or clarity around it. This is the time that you can start making changes in your life. You will also be able to decide with your therapist how to use Ketamine in your treatment in subsequent sessions. For example, at the feedback of the therapist, you might decide to “let go” more and “surrender” to the experience more to be able to access a different state of consciousness.

YOUR THERAPIST’S WORK:
A lot of work in this stage involves identity and reality creation. Your therapist and yourself can chart your progress on the Integral map. Your therapist will be utilizing various techniques like Internal Family Systems.Cognitive Behavior therapy, Motivational Interviewing, EMDR or other modalities to help you develop in each of those integral map components.
